Urbanova: a case study by LAIN
A brand identity, a three-page website, an eight-page brochure and social media for Urbanova Real Estate: a mark made of half-discs cut from one circle, photographs cut by the same circle, pale paper, dark rooms and a light serif.

Urbanova is a modern real estate agency built around curated opportunities, clear market perspective and considered property presentation. The brief was an identity, a website, a brochure and a set of posts that treat a property as something to be seen in context: one circle cut into pieces, pale paper and dark rooms, and a light serif that lets the architecture speak.

Property, seen
in context.
Urbanova does not sell the biggest catalogue, it sells a point of view. The agency curates a small number of properties, explains the neighbourhood and the market around each one, and shows the architecture the way it deserves. So the identity has to feel considered before anyone reads a word.
Everything is built from one idea, a circle cut into halves. The mark, the photographs on the website and the pattern on every surface are made of the same few pieces, turned and set against each other, so each property is shown from a slightly different angle.
The website's first screen: one property, one line and nothing else
Four colours,
one light serif.
Obsidian black and nova cream carry the pages, mist green and urban slate are the supporting tones. Headlines are set large in a light serif, with an italic for the tagline and a quiet sans for small text, so the architecture and the circle supply all the drama.
Pages, the mark

Cards, the lockup ground

The lockup: the mark, the name in two lines and the tagline, on mist green
The mark on black, slate, cream and green
The pattern: the same halves, turned and repeated behind the mark
The construction: the circles every piece is cut from
Everything is
half a circle.
The mark is five half-discs of one circle: two large, two small and a bowl. Scroll to build it the way it is drawn. A circle opens on a property, its right half turns over to show another, and the smaller pieces turn into place to complete the mark. Move the pointer and each picture slides behind its window.
A single circle, opened on a property. Every shape in the identity starts here.
Half stays, half turns over. The same shape, seen from the other side, shows another property.
Smaller halves and a bowl turn into place and the mark is complete: Property, Reframed.
The circle,
on everything.
On a lanyard, in concrete, pressed into paper and large on a wall, the mark keeps to the same few rules: it stands alone, cream on dark or black on light, and the pattern is allowed to run behind it.

Where Property Meets Perspective: the billboard
Dark rooms,
pale paper.
Three pages that alternate between pale paper and dark rooms, the way the agency moves from the street to the interior. Photographs are cut by the mark's own circle, the serif sits large and light, and every section holds one idea: a number, a map, a pair of halves.
A house on the first screen, a circle of photographs, six featured properties, categories, a map and the strategy.
The agency's approach, a circle cut in two, a column of round photographs and a market map.
Buying, selling and looking beyond the listing, each with its own cut of the same circle.
The page,
one cut at a time.
Circles, half-discs and pale cards come back in every section. Here are the pieces, cut from the pages.
The services page opens on a house with the half-discs cutting in from its edges
A photograph cut by a circle, beside four numbers
Featured properties, six pictures in two rows
A circle and its slices, on the dark ground
The approach, four short lines in a cross
Round pictures stacked beside a statement
Four values on pale green cards, and the pattern in black
Buying, in four steps, each with a half-disc of its own
A circle cut across the middle, two views of one place
The same circle,
on paper.
The brochure carries the website onto paper: a black cover with one curve of architecture, pages of cream and mist green, large pictures set into panels and the half-disc pattern pressed in behind the type.
Two spreads: Property, Reframed on black, then a new perspective on urban property
Property should be seen in context, and Buy, Sell, Invest
Sell and Invest on mist green, a clearer process in six steps
A residence, and speaking with an advisor
Eight pages,
start to finish.
The letter-size pages in order: the cover, the agency, perspective, buy, sell and invest, the process, a property and the way to reach an advisor.
Property, Reframed
A new perspective on urban property
Property should be seen in context
Buy. Sell. Invest.
Sell and invest
A clearer process, from perspective to completion

Your next property move starts with perspective
Stories and posts,
cut from the same cloth.
Stories carry a headline over one architectural detail, posts frame a photograph in a cream or black panel with the mark in the corner, and grey halftone pictures keep the feed quiet.
Three stories: a facade, a room full of light and a chair in a square of sun
Three posts: an urban view, complexity made clear and a single curve
Five covers,
one dark room.
For the shots the work steps out of the browser and the page: the about and services pages, the identity, the posts and the brochure, each shown whole. The home page is the cover at the top.
