StoneHaven: a case study by LAIN
A three-page website for StoneHaven Capital, a wealth management and advisory firm: a black hero of teal light bands, serif headlines, and cards that lay white panels of charts, ledgers and maps over teal glass.

StoneHaven Capital advises families and institutions on their wealth. The brief was a website that feels as steady as the money it looks after, so it leaves the usual finance blues behind: a black first screen lit by bands of teal light, a classic serif for every headline and the figures set on white panels that float over soft teal glass.

Website design, three pages
2026
Calm, not cold.
Financial websites tend to shout: charts, percentages, promises. StoneHaven's design does the opposite. The first screen is almost empty, a black field with one slope of light and a single serif headline, and the page only turns to paper once you have started to scroll.
From there every idea gets the same device. A teal card with two lines of serif at the top and a white panel laid over its lower half: a line chart, a ledger of payouts, a stack of paper that reads Asset Protection. The figures are the only bright things on the page, and they sit on the panel like light on water.
Adapt, grow,
preserve.
The hero is not a photograph but a row of fluted bands that glow from the foot of the frame. We cut the design's own background along its seams and gave every band a height of its own, so the picture on screen is still the original light, only played. Move the pointer to lift the bands under it.
Markets move, so the bands do. They sway against one another and never sit level, the way the hero shifts from one rib of light to the next.
Scroll on and they climb, each one taller than the last. A line runs through their tops: growth as it feels over a long time, slow at first and then steeper.
Then they settle on one even line. That is the promise under the whole design, wealth kept steady through every cycle, and it is the calm the page ends on.
Teal, black
and white glass.
The palette is sampled from the design. Midnight carries the first screen, three teals run from the deep tops of the cards to the lagoon of the charts and the map, a mint is the colour of the hero's light, and a pale mist closes the page. Headlines are a high-contrast serif and the small print a quiet sans, and the wordmark is that serif, set very large and ghosted into the footer.

The one device of the design, repeated until it is a language. The About page uses it for three moods, the home page for three kinds of proof and the services page for five offers, each with its own small interface: a chart, a calendar, an allocation, a holding.

Three pages,
one steady tone.
Every page begins in the dark and ends in the same teal-to-mist gradient, with a long stretch of calm paper between them. Open each page in the frame and scroll it.
A black first screen with the partner banks along its foot, a boardroom film, three cards of proof, the discipline and monitoring sections, three articles, a client's words and the call to start.
The same bands on top, the three moods as cards, the advisors, a row of four portraits and a map of the global reach.
Five services as cards, the investment method, a sky-coloured planning section, an offer for institutions, a four-step process and the closing call.
The page,
one section at a time.
Small serif headlines on paper, a few lines of grey explanation, one thin check list, and a teal card to hold every figure. Here are the pieces, cut from the pages.
The first screen: the slope of light, the headline and the banks along its foot
Portfolio discipline: bars climbing on a glass card
Market monitoring: a ledger on the same glass, the text on the other side
Global perspective: a map in the card's colours
Three articles on a quiet grey
Global reach, local relationships
The investment method: an allocation table with its target ranges
Two more covers,
one dark room.
For the shots the work steps out of the browser: the about page and the services page, each shown whole. The home page is the cover at the top.
